In 1904, the owner of the land sold lots at an affordable cost and promoted the Capitol Heights area as having a great view of Washington, crystal clear springs to drink from, and an electric railway coming soon. It did not happen as quickly as expected but the area eventually grew and established it's own public services and finally got it's electric railway as part of the Washington Metro line in 1980.
