Frostburg, MD, Hotel/Motel Choices

Surrounded by the rugged natural beauty of Western Maryland's mountains, Frostburg is also alive with history and charm. Whether visiting Allegheny, Cumberland or Garrett County for business or pleasure, Frostburg just may be the place to stay. Frostburg State University is the most prestigious school in the western part of our state, and the Cumberland Airport is only a few minutes outside of town.

George Washington slept here. No, he really did. His headquarters are a nearby place to visit, as is the C & O Canal National Historic Park, and Old Bedford Village. Be sure to use our Frostburg Info page to locate the nearest hotels to this historic city in the mountains.

(from Wikipedia) Frostburg is located in the Allegheny Mountains and has an elevation of about 1600 feet above sea level. Because of the elevation and location near the Allegheny Front, Frostburg has a colder, wetter climate than the rest of Allegany County. Average summer temperatures peak at only 79°F in July. In December, January, and February, average monthly temperatures range from 32-37°F, which combined with moderate precipitation can leave large portions of the town and surrounding landscape to be snow and ice-covered for weeks or even months straight. Driving conditions on I-68 and US 40 can be very hazardous despite timely state and local road maintenance services. -- America's Beaches and Towns Network
